Meet Jessi Cabanin - founder, creator, educator—obsessed with taking action and helping others see things differently. She doesn’t just talk about change—she lives it. She’s built her reputation on making things happen, and she’s here to help you do the same.
It’s a new year, which means one thing: time to ditch what isn’t working and elevate your brand to match your business goals. As a bold entrepreneur, you already know that standing out in a crowded market means showing up like the badass you are. But here’s the thing: even the strongest brands need a refresh to stay aligned and relevant. That’s where I come in—with over 15 years of experience in various aspects of marketing, including branding, web design, photography and videography, I’m here to walk you through some easy and actionable branding updates you can take today to start your year strong.
Feeling disconnected from your brand? You’re not alone. Many entrepreneurs hit a point where their business no longer feels aligned with their original vision. Sometimes, the entire vision changes. That's okay! But it's also your cue to revisit the basics. Ask yourself a few key branding questions to get the wheels turning:
A clear understanding of your brand’s foundation isn’t just helpful—it’s essential for growth. If something feels off, do a deep dive into rediscovering your “why.” Journal your answers to the 5 W’s (with pen and paper!) and identify any areas needing alignment. Your future self will thank you.

Your visual brand identity is the first impression you make. Does your branding scream “you”? Or does it just…scream? If your logo, colors, and fonts aren’t telling the right story or connecting with your ideal clients, it’s time for an update.
Even more importantly, is your branding cohesive across every touchpoint? Yes, its true – we need to approach different platforms with different strategies…but get your act together and make sure that the soul of your brand is the same soul everywhere you show up. Yes, even when you represent and talk about your biz in everyday life!
Different marketing strategies are more built on external factors – things like the client's needs, your industry, even your geographical location. Remember – the strategic approaches are the HOW. Not to be confused with the who, what, when, where and why.
Take a moment to conduct a quick visual brand audit across every context. Are your logos, colors, and fonts cohesive across your social media, emails, and print materials? From your website to your invoices, consistency is necessary to build that trust between you and your clients.

Is your website working for you or against you? Your website is your top salesperson, so you need to make sure it’s doing its job. You’ve probably heard of the importance of optimizing for search engines, and I’m here to tell you it’s essential. SEO isn’t just a buzzword—it’s how your dream clients find you. But where do you start?
Start with the basics: add fresh, optimized images (my free guide, How to Optimize Your Image Names for SEO can help!) Then, audit your website copy. Is it clear what you do and who you serve? And more importantly, in language the customer can understand? Ditch extra lingo in most of your copy – your customer likely has no idea what they mean! Your can also find a keyword research tool and look for the search terms your ideal clients are actually typing into Google.
Go search Google right now for something related to your service. Scroll down until you see “People also ask”. This is my favorite way to audit my website copy as well as develop blog posts that are highly related to what people are already searching for!
If your website copy doesn't include any of the phrases listed under “people also ask” (or anything close to them), it’s time for a refresh sis!

Let’s get one thing straight: social media is NOT your freakin' diary. Too many entrepreneurs are using social media the wrong way. Are you guilty of chasing likes, views, and followers? Stop. Your social platforms should be a strategic extension of your brand used to connect with your community and build trust.
Focus on talking to your ideal audience in a way that’s authentic to you, and always—ALWAYS—include links back to your website. If you’re not bringing people to the place they can actually book your services, what’s the point? Social media isn't a strategy, it's a tool—use it wisely to build your business, not just your follower count.

Your customer experience is a direct reflection of your brands, so make it count! If you haven’t already, automate as much as possible—think email sequences, invoicing systems, and follow-ups that guide clients effortlessly from inquiry to booking. Overwhelmed by the sheer thought of this? Trust me I feel ya. Start by opening a fresh Google Doc or Sheet, and start mapping out every single step and touch point you have with a client while providing your service. I'm talking start to finish. Write it all down. This makes it so much easier to come back to find (and execute) automated tasks.
Already have automations? Take time to review and refresh them to ensure they’re still accurate and aligned with your brand’s tone and values. The most successful brands have built an excellent customer experience—a seamless process that helps a client feel at ease.
That right there is how you turn a client into your next ride or die.
• Systems, systems, systems—invest in automation tools like HoneyBook or Dubsado for client booking and onboarding (get discounts on all of my favorites here).
• Use a dummy account to book your own services as if you’re a potential client. Is it easy? Is everything on-brand and up-to-date?
Starting the year strong doesn’t have to be complicated. By clarifying your brand’s foundation, ensuring consistency, optimizing your website, refining your social media strategy, and automating your processes, you can set yourself up for success each and every year.
